Spring has finally arrived and the tenants have been enjoying some gloriously sunny days. Some of our tenants have been enjoying choosing and planting seeds in their gardens and we are looking forward to seeing their gardens in full bloom.
Some tenants enjoyed a three course Sunday lunch on Easter Sunday. The menu including prawn salad and roast lamb was designed and prepared by the tenants with support from the staff. After their delicious lunch some of the tenants were tasked with finding an Easter egg treat each which had been hidden around their home or garden. Everybody enjoyed the challenge of searching for their eggs and with some support everyone was successful in locating their chocolate treat. One tenant said that it was “Great fun”
Some of the tenants have been training hard for the Special Olympics National Games this August in Sheffield. Each week they take part in the Special Olympics and have at least one hour of training in their chosen sports. We are extremely proud to announce that two of our tenants at Westward Ho! have qualified for the games, in the tennis and swimming disciplines. They have worked really hard and had to compete in numerous competitions in order to qualify for their places. We wish them the best of luck in Sheffield. The Special Olympics supports over 10,000 athletes and is the largest provider of an all ability sports programme and offers training in 28 different sports. It provides athletes of all abilities the opportunity to compete and progress at local, regional, national and international levels.
